We're looking for a high-performing Controller to join our team and help our clients scale sustainably.
Position Summary:
The Controller will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations for multiple client accounts, ensuring accurate financial reporting, adherence to GAAP, and timely month-end close. This role requires strong leadership, technical accounting knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple priorities across diverse clients.
💼 This is a remote position with a required work schedule of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Central Time (CST).
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage all accounting operations for assigned client accounts, including general ledger, A/P, A/R, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
• Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process; ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Prepare and review internal financial statements and provide variance analysis and commentary.
• Maintain and implement internal controls and accounting best practices across client environments.
• Ensure client compliance with U.S. GAAP and any relevant regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with client tax advisors and auditors as needed.
• Train, supervise, and mentor client accounting staff or offshore support teams.
• Partner with US Controllers, CFOs and senior finance leadership to deliver insights and support strategic decision-making for the client.
• Assist in creating and implementing financial policies, procedures, and systems improvements.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management activities.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a Controller role.
• Experience working with small to mid-sized businesses, ideally within a multi-client or outsourced CFO/controller firm.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal control frameworks.
• Proficiency with accounting systems such as QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Xero, or similar.
• Advanced Excel skills and the ability to work with cloud-based finance tools.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple client relationships with professionalism and care.
