General information:
We are looking for a Controller (f/m/d) to immediately join the finance department at WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management. The job posting covers typical range of activities of a controller and is aimed at talented people (f/m/d) with an affinity for numbers and data and a strong inclination towards analytical and conceptual problem solving.
Your mission:
• Preparation of budgets and forecasts with a focus on operating and personnel costs
• Performance of variance analyses and derivation of corrective actions to achieve targets, in close collaboration with budget owners
• Preparation, standardization, and continuous development of internal financial reporting
• Execution of period-end closing activities within cost center accounting, as well as the implementation of a meaningful cost object accounting system
• Implementation and further development of controlling software (Business Central, Data Warehouse, and BI tools), as well as the advancement of controlling methodologies (e.g. contribution margin analysis)
• Definition and reporting of key performance indicators relevant for management control, and execution of benchmark analyses
Your profile:
• Successfully completed degree in economics, business administration, business informatics, or a comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in controlling, ideally with a focus on operating and personnel costs within a cost center accounting environment
• Enjoyment in the continuous development of controlling processes, methods, and solutions, combined with a strong business partner mindset
• Very good proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, as well as experience working with BI tools
• Strong numerical aptitude, well-developed analytical skills, and an independent, forward-looking working style
• Team-oriented mindset and strong communication skills in both German and English
