Quick Summary

This Contract Manager will be responsible for managing contracts for US state and local government entities, with a focus on renewal execution and contract administration. The ideal candidate will have experience in contract management, preferably in the public sector, and be familiar with contract negotiation and dispute resolution. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for this role.

Job Description

Everbridge, a global leader in critical event management, helps enterprises and government organisations anticipate, mitigate, respond to, and recover from critical events, keeping people safe and organisations running. It delivers this primarily through its SaaS-based Critical Event Management (CEM) platform, along with managed services and support.

We’re hiring a Contract Manager to serve as front-line contracting support for U.S. State & Local Government (SLED/SLG) opportunities, including ownership of the Legal work stream for RFP responses and to provide commercial renewal execution support. This role will also help build and improve contracting processes, especially across SLED, RFPs, and renewals, and may take on additional responsibilities within the Legal function (e.g., insurance program support and intellectual property coordination).

What you'll do::
Drafting, reviewing, redlining, and negotiating a variety of agreements (MSAs, NDAs, DPAs, SOWs, SaaS agreements).

Public Sector (SLED/SLG) contracting

• Review, negotiate, and manage SLED agreements from intake through signature (customer terms, award documents, exhibits/addenda, and required forms).

• Identify and drive resolution of common public-sector issues (required clauses, certifications, insurance, data/privacy/security requirements), partnering with internal stakeholders as needed.

• Help develop and standardize SLED contracting playbooks, templates, and intake/triage processes to reduce cycle time and improve consistency.

RFP legal response ownership

• Own the Legal portion of RFP/RFI responses: intake, project planning, deadline management, drafting legal responses, and coordinating cross-functional inputs.

• Build and maintain reusable response assets (standard language, “must-have” exceptions, review checklists) and continuously improve the RFP Legal response process.

Channel sales, Commercial renewals + Customer contracting admin

• Support the channel sales team by negotiating reseller agreements and resolving issues that arise when selling to end-customers

• Support renewal execution by triaging customer terms at renewal, resolving PO vs. quote conflicts, and ensuring clean documentation and order mechanics.

• Provide guidance on renewal mechanics (auto-renewal language, notice timing, short extensions/bridge language, and common renewal exceptions requiring approvals).

• Develop and improve renewal workflows (templates, approval paths, escalation rules, and “renewal hygiene” practices) with Legal Ops and cross-functional partners.

Additional Legal support

• Contribute to other Legal team priorities within scope, which may include insurance program administration/support (e.g., certificates, contracting-related insurance questions, coordination with brokers) and intellectual property support (e.g., intake/coordination for trademarks, basic IP terms triage, and routing to counsel as appropriate).

• Take on other Legal operational responsibilities to help keep work moving and improve team scalability.

What you'll bring::
• Experience supporting public sector contracting (SLED) and comfort navigating procurement-driven customer terms.

• Experience supporting RFP responses, including drafting legal sections and managing deadlines across stakeholders.

• Working knowledge of renewal contracting workflows (auto-renewal, notice, PO term conflicts, order/quote mechanics).

• Demonstrated ability to build and improve process (templates, playbooks, workflows, intake/triage).

• Strong project management, attention to detail, and clear, practical communication skills.

Preferred Experience/Qualifications:
• Familiarity with common SLED procurement vehicles and post-award modifications.

• Experience improving contracting operations (playbooks, clause libraries, CLM/intake workflows).

• Understanding of revenue impact, deal structure, pricing terms

• Experience with CLM platforms (e.g. Salesforce)

• Familiarity with AI-enabled tools for contract review, redlining, and workflow automation

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365, collaboration tools (e.g. Slack), document tools (e.g. Adobe), and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new legal tech and workflow automation tools

• Experience supporting channel sales with a working knowledge of channel sales model, as well as negotiating reseller and distributor – var agreements
