Contract Technical Writer – Digital Learning & Product Documentation
Location: Remote (India)
Duration: Long-term contract (approx. 12 months)
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Technical Writer to support the creation of in-platform learning materials and product documentation for a global software environment.
In this role, you will translate product demos, recordings, and SME inputs into clear, user-friendly guides and video scripts. You’ll work across the full content lifecycle, from initial draft through review and final publishing, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and usability.
This is a hands-on role suited for someone who is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, release-driven environment.
What You’ll Do
Content Development
• Create and update user guides with step-by-step instructions, screenshots, and troubleshooting notes
• Develop video scripts aligned to screen recordings, including narration, on-screen actions, and timing cues
• Capture and annotate screen recordings to support documentation and video development
Information Gathering
• Gather inputs from demos, recordings, SMEs, and product updates
• Convert raw inputs into structured, task-based documentation
• Validate content for accuracy and alignment with product functionality
Review & Publishing Workflow
• Manage content through defined review stages, incorporating feedback from multiple stakeholders
• Track approvals, revisions, and final sign-off
• Prepare and package content for publishing within internal platforms or knowledge bases
Operational Management
• Track progress, updates, risks, and dependencies using project management tools
• Maintain consistency in terminology, formatting, and documentation standards
• Identify and document product issues or gaps with clear reproduction steps
