Position Overview
Four Inc. is seeking a Contract Operations Intern to support the Operations team with contract administration, data organization, and special projects related to contract lifecycle management (CLM). This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience, professional development, and exposure to real-world contract operations in a collaborative environment.
This role follows a hybrid work schedule, with three in-office days per week at Four Inc.’s headquarters in Herndon, Virginia, and two remote workdays.
Essential Functions
Inventory and consolidate agreements from CRM systems, email archives, and SharePoint into a centralized contract library
Review, triage, and organize contracts by type, counterparty, and lifecycle status
Perform document cleanup, including duplication, file naming standardization, version control, and formatting consistency
Extract and validate key contract metadata (effective date, term, renewal provisions, governing law, parties, contract value, etc.)
Prepare contracts for ingestion into the Workday Evisort CLM platform
Support bulk uploads and quality assurance reviews of documents and metadata within Evisort
Conduct quality checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper tagging
Identify gaps or risks in contract records (missing amendments, unsigned documents, expired agreements, etc.)
Assist in developing filing standards, naming conventions, and standard operating procedures for ongoing contract governance
Build basic reports and trackers to monitor ingestion progress and data quality
Partner with internal stakeholders to request missing documentation and clarify contract details
Document processes and recommend improvements to streamline future contract intake
Gain exposure to contract lifecycle management best practices, data governance, and cross-functional collaboration

Qualifications
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited college or university
Highly detail-oriented and organized with a strong data hygiene mindset
Comfortable working with large volumes of documents and spreadsheets
Analytical thinker able to identify inconsistencies and patterns
Tech-savvy and quick to learn new systems (CLM tools, Workday, SharePoint, Excel/Google Sheets)
Strong written communication and documentation skills
Self-starter capable of managing priorities and owning assigned projects
Curious and process-improvement oriented
Trustworthy with confidential and sensitive information
Preferred Qualifications
Interest in Legal Operations, Business Operations, or Information Management
Experience with Excel or Google Sheets (sorting, filtering, basic formulas)
Exposure to contracts, compliance, or document management systems
Coursework in business, pre-law, information systems, or operations-related fields
Physical Requirements
The work is generally sedentary and performed in an office or remote setting; however, some travel to government or partner sites may be required.
The position may require:
Visual acuity to view computer screens, read technical documents, and perform data analysis and data entry
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment
Occasional lifting or carrying of equipment, boxes, or documents (typically under 40 lbs)
Ability to hear and speak clearly in virtual and in-person meetings
