Psychological Dimensions (PD), a nationwide police and public safety and risk management consulting firm with physical offices in Atlanta, Denver, and Chicago, invites applications for a licensed psychologist, preferably with previous assessment or forensic training and experience. Our agency provides state-of-the-art forensic risk management psychological evaluations to law enforcement and other safety-sensitive organizations. The psychologist may also have unique opportunities to participate in risk assessment and consultation with television networks and the media.
Applications will be accepted from licensed psychologists who have limited assessment experience, preference is given to applicants with experience in risk and threat assessment, psychological pre-employment screening services, critical incident debriefing, and/or police/public safety and corporate fitness for duty evaluations. Psypact APIT will be required before starting).
This contractor opportunity is ideal for psychologists looking for extra income and who are seeking interesting and rewarding work as a consultant with our firm. While prior experience in police and public safety psychology is preferred, we understand that it is difficult to obtain experience in this unique area, and this is not a requirement. Applicants selected will be provided with comprehensive training and supervision from our staff that includes use and interpretation of related testing, as well as interviewing and report writing skills needed to conduct these highly specialized evaluations.
REQUIREMENTS: Successful applicants must have completed a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited program, as well as an APA-accredited pre-doctoral clinical internship. Applicants must be licensed in a PsyPact Member State (https://psypact.org/mpage/psypactmap) AND have or be willing to obtain an active Psypact credential. Efficiency, detail-orientation, and excellent writing skills and grammar are essential requirements. Our schedule is based on the needs of our clients, and while work demand may vary, we do offer flexibility in working with your existing schedule. The contract psychologist should have availability for a minimum commitment of 8 hours/week for evaluations on a set schedule each week.
