Job Description
Contract Clinical Assessor
1099 Independent Contractor | Flexible Schedule
CARF-Accredited Organization
Role Focus: This is a specialized assessment-only contract role. The Contract Clinical Assessor does not carry an ongoing therapy caseload. Responsibilities are limited to conducting initial diagnostic assessment sessions, completing required clinical documentation, and producing individualized treatment plans and IPOCs. This position is ideal for a clinician who excels at diagnostic work and wants high-volume, flexible, billable assessment contracts.
Position Overview
Trusted Results Therapy Group is seeking an experienced and clinically sharp Contract Clinical Assessor to join our contractor network. This 1099 contract role is dedicated exclusively to the initial diagnostic assessment phase of client care. The Contract Clinical Assessor conducts structured diagnostic evaluation sessions with new clients, applies DSM-5 criteria to render accurate diagnostic impressions, and produces complete clinical documentation including individualized treatment plans and IPOCs prior to handing off clients to ongoing therapy and psychiatric services.
Contractors in this role work independently, set their own availability, and are compensated on a per-completed-assessment basis. This structure is well-suited for clinicians seeking focused, assessment-only contract work with the flexibility to integrate into an existing schedule or practice.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct initial diagnostic assessment sessions with new clients via telehealth or at TRTG office locations across South Carolina
Apply DSM-5 criteria to develop accurate diagnostic impressions based on presenting symptoms, history, and clinical observation
Complete all required initial intake documentation including client demographics, consent for treatment, and releases of information (ROI)
Develop individualized treatment plans (ITPs) aligned with diagnostic findings and client-identified goals
Complete Individualized Plans of Care (IPOCs) in accordance with TRTG and payer requirements
Conduct Residential Based Habilitative Services (RBHS) assessments as applicable and generate compliant RBHS documentation
Enter all assessment documentation accurately and within required timeframes in TRTG's electronic health record (EHR) system
Communicate diagnostic and clinical findings to TRTG clinical and administrative teams to facilitate smooth client transition into ongoing services
Adhere to TRTG documentation standards, HIPAA requirements, payer-specific intake requirements, and SC licensing regulations
Scope of Role
The Contract Clinical Assessor does not provide ongoing therapy, manage a therapy caseload, or attend clinical supervision as a supervisee. This role begins and ends with the assessment phase. Once the assessment session is complete and all documentation is finalized and submitted, the client is transitioned to TRTG's clinical team. Contractors carry no ongoing client relationship responsibilities beyond the initial assessment encounter.
