Job Summary: Contract Care Worker (Independent Contractor)
The Contract Care Worker provides nonmedical caregiving services to individuals with developmental disabilities residing in group home settings on a project-based, Activity Block basis. This role operates strictly as an independent contractor and does not create an employment relationship.
Contractors are given access to available Activity Blocks across one or more group home locations managed by Nestvillage. Contractors may select assignments based on availability and their own discretion. However, Activity Blocks are not guaranteed. The Company is under no obligation to provide a minimum number of assignments, and the Contractor is not required to accept any specific assignment.
Compensation is earned only upon the full, satisfactory, and compliant completion of selected Activity Blocks. Payment is tied strictly to services delivered and properly documented.
This role requires professional judgment, independent decision-making, and the ability to operate with minimal supervision while ensuring resident health, safety, dignity, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Activity Block Service Delivery
(Responsibilities apply only to Activity Blocks selected by the Contractor.)
Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding, grooming, and mobility support.
Offer general supervision, companionship, and behavioral support consistent with approved care plans.
Support routine-building, skill development, and community participation.
Provide approved medication reminders (non-clinical) in accordance with applicable training and authorization.
Prepare meals and perform light housekeeping necessary to maintain a safe and sanitary living environment.
Provide transportation to appointments, community outings, and other approved activities, as needed.
Maintain a safe, respectful, and structured environment consistent with regulatory and licensing standards.
Documentation & Compliance
Accurately complete and submit all required documentation related to selected Activity Blocks.
Ensure services are delivered in compliance with care plans, state licensing requirements, and applicable federal and state regulations.
Maintain confidentiality of all resident, operational, and proprietary information.
Immediately report incidents, safety concerns, behavioral escalations, or significant changes in resident condition.
Professional Responsibility
Maintain all required licensure, certifications, and mandatory training at Contractor’s own expense.
Provide proof of training and certification as required.
Exercise independent judgment in carrying out responsibilities while meeting required standards and deadlines.
Ensure any assigned Replacement Contractor (if applicable) meets qualification and compliance requirements prior to reassignment.
Independent Contractor Status
This position is not employment and does not create an employer-employee relationship.
The Contractor controls the manner and means of performing services, subject to required outcomes and compliance standards.
The Contractor is responsible for their own taxes, insurance, workers’ compensation coverage (if applicable), and required certifications.
No minimum hours or guaranteed assignments are provided.

Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in residential settings preferred.

Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Work Environment
Services are performed in a residential group home setting and may require physical activity, including lifting, assisting with mobility, responding to behavioral incidents, and managing emergency situations. Assignments may include evenings, weekends, overnight, or live-in coverage depending on selected Activity Blocks.
