Role Overview
The Containment Specialist is responsible for the installation of electrical containment systems within live and fast-paced data centre and pharmaceutical projects. This role plays a critical part in ensuring cable management systems are installed accurately, safely, and in line with strict project specifications, cleanliness standards, and quality expectations.
Working closely with supervisors, engineers, and installation teams, the Containment Specialist supports efficient site delivery while maintaining Centum’s “Right First Time” approach.
Key Responsibilities
Containment Installation
Install electrical containment systems including cable tray, ladder, basket, trunking, conduit and associated supports.
Read and work from drawings, layouts, and coordinated services plans.
Ensure containment is installed level, aligned, and to specification across plant rooms, technical spaces, and clean environments.
Data Centre & Pharma Compliance
Work within live or controlled environments, maintaining high housekeeping and cleanliness standards.
Understand and follow project-specific protocols for pharmaceutical and mission-critical facilities.
Ensure containment routes allow for future expansion, segregation, and maintenance access.
Quality & Standards
Deliver installations in line with Centum quality procedures and client standards.
Identify clashes, design issues or installation risks and escalate early to supervision.
Support snag-free delivery by maintaining high workmanship standards throughout.
Health & Safety
Adhere to all site safety rules, permits to work, and method statements.
Use correct PPE and safe manual handling techniques.
Promote a strong safety culture on site and support “Stop Work” where required.
Team & Site Support
Work collaboratively with electricians, supervisors, and other trades.
Support programme delivery by maintaining productivity and flexibility across site areas.
Assist with materials handling, preparation, and coordination as required.
Skills & Experience Required
Technical Experience
Proven experience installing containment on data centre, pharmaceutical, or large industrial projects.
Strong understanding of cable management systems and support structures.
Experience working to tight tolerances and high-spec installation standards.
Ability to interpret drawings and follow coordinated layouts.
Professional Attributes
Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused.
Ability to work independently or as part of a wider electrical team.
Comfortable working on large sites across multiple European locations.
Qualifications
Relevant trade background or equivalent site experience.
Manual handling, IPAF, or MEWP tickets desirable.
Safe Pass / CSCS or equivalent required.
Willingness to travel and work across Europe.
