CONSULTING PURPOSE
Crowe is a leading business advisory and accountancy firm, ranking among the top 10 Firms in Ireland. Our dynamic team currently has 17 partners and c. 200 employees, including qualified accountants, taxation practitioners, management consultants, trainees, and administrative support staff. Working in a team of senior professional management consultants, the work is a mixture of consultancy, project management and coordination, long-term advisory engagements and short-term (3 – 6 months) projects in the health and social care, government, public sector, not-for-profit and commercial sectors.
The post holder’s principal responsibility will be to act as a project team member and manager across project activity within the Consulting team, bringing combination of specialist and generalist capabilities to bear on the delivery of outputs and deliverables. The post holder will be responsible for the effective delivery of a wide and varied range of high-quality assignments and projects, from data gathering, through analysis and evaluation, to draft report stage, within the required timescales. The post holder will be expected to network and develop business relationships as well as actively engage in business development activities and responsibilities.
KEY RESULT AREAS
Plan, co–ordinate and manage the delivery of a broad range of assignments of a complex/ad-hoc nature. Keep up to date information and monitoring on project timescales.
Provide robust analysis, planning, and review within client assignments.
Gather information and data from a range of client systems, and through interviews, focus groups and workshops with key client staff, and perform detailed analysis of the data to inform judgements on the matters contained within assignment Terms of Reference.
Draft high-quality, value-adding detailed reports that include practical recommendations to address all issues and control weaknesses identified during the assignments, with a clear supporting rationale.
Ensure assignments are satisfactorily completed to specification and within agreed timescales.
Produce high-quality proposal material in response to tenders and client project briefs.
Manage multiple assignments simultaneously and ensure the most effective and efficient use of time and resources at all times.
Liaise closely and build effective working relationships with client staff in all disciplines to facilitate and support the process.
Conduct effective discussions with senior staff, often concerning contentious and complicated issues pertinent to individual projects.
Actively engage with the consultancy team and the broader Crowe team to maintain the culture of team-working, participation and accountability.
Conduct primary and secondary quantitative and qualitative research to a high standard.
Ensure senior team members are appropriately briefed at all times to include significant issues on the work being undertaken and any performance problems.
Be fully conversant and understand the authority levels of this role and those of all relevant stakeholders to ensure full compliance with the Firm’s policies, procedures and regulations.
Network and develop business relationships as well as actively engage in business development activities and responsibilities.
Engage fully with on-the-job training and fully participate in all Performance Management initiatives as required.
Contribute to the effective management and control of the consulting project portfolio in Crowe.
Manage project teams and third parties (e.g. external consultants) as required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Knowledge & Skills:
A relevant qualification at NFQ level 8 or higher (e.g. in business, economics, health and social care, data analytics or a discipline relevant to the client portfolio).
Demonstrable consulting experience in working with Government, public sector, health and social care, and not-for-profit sectors and awareness of topical issues.
Proven ability to work well in a team.
3-5 years + experience in a similar consultancy position.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven written English skills are essential, and applicants must have evidence and the ability to produce well-written reports, proposals and other deliverables which are of high quality, professional and polished.
Highly proficient in excel and skilled in Microsoft Office and other suitable IT applications.
Project Management skills plus the ability to handle multiple tasks/projects at any one time.
Comfort and a high level of comfort and literacy in evaluation of issues with public sector finances, policies, compliance and regulation.
Comfortable and competent assisting with both qualitative and data-driven analysis of client issues.
