We are looking for talented individuals to join FMI’s rapidly growing Private Equity Services Practice in 2026. As an Analyst, you’ll join a team that partners with leading financial sponsors to deliver transaction-related consulting services (i.e., commercial due diligence, operational due diligence, and sell-side market studies). Our clients range from $100+ billion AUM firms to independent sponsors and family offices.

As part of the Private Equity Services team, you will conduct in-depth research and analysis of market trends, industry dynamics, financials, and competitive landscapes to deliver data-driven insights. Leveraging FMI’s exclusive focus on the built environment, our mission is to help financial sponsors unlock growth, enhance performance, and create lasting value.

This is a hybrid, full-time opportunity that requires 5%-15% travel and will be based out of our corporate headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina. 

The start date for this position will be July 27, 2026.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough market research to gather and analyze data on industry trends, competitive landscapes, customer behavior, and other relevant market dynamics to inform clients.

Utilize a variety of research methods, including primary and secondary research, data analysis, and financial modeling, to assess market opportunities and risks.

Collaborate with senior team members to develop research methodologies and analytical frameworks for each project.

Analyze and synthesize complex data and information into clear and concise reports and presentations for clients, including findings, recommendations, and actionable insights.

Stay up to date with industry trends, market dynamics, and best practices in strategy consulting and private equity to continuously enhance your expertise and contribute to the team's success.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.

Internship or prior work experience in strategy consulting, private equity, investment banking, or related fields, with a proven track record of conducting market research and providing data-driven insights.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw meaningful conclusions.

Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

Proficiency with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
