Consultant/Senior Consultant - Data Analytics Consulting (Power BI)

We are looking for a Consultant or Senior Consultant (2-5 years’ experience), to support the key analytical, dashboard reporting development and digital transformation activities performed by the Advisory Data & Digital consulting team for our clients, including: 

• The development of key client data insights used to drive enhanced portfolio, program, and project performance and management reports 

• The construction of project management dashboards highlighting performance across schedule, cost, risk, health and safety and commercial metrics 

• Create interactive dashboards and reports for review and analytical interrogation 

• Deploying enhanced data management frameworks with clients and managing increased levels of data competency across organisations and infrastructure projects 

• Working with clients to develop digital strategies to support organisational change and decision making 

• Developing strategic reports and recommendations focusing on enterprise and project management systems 

• Supporting digital transformation projects including system implementation, data warehousing and digital adoption strategies 

• Conduct data and digital workshops to identify data sources, capture reporting requirements and diagnose digital and data workflows 

This role is not just a technical data science or data engineering, but a client facing data consulting role where you will be working and interacting directly with clients to build creative dashboarding solutions, data products and digital strategies.  

• Development of key insights reports based upon analytical findings, creating conceptual data maps and data schemas, and using statistics and metrics to interpret data 

• Development of key client financial reports and scenario analytics used in Business Case Development 

• Providing hands on PMO support through the management of programs and coordinating key data entry required for delivery and financial reporting 

• Assisting with data and digital diagnostics findings reports and recommendation papers. 

• Identifying improvement or efficiency opportunities within existing processes across our clients. 

• Translating client data and digital strategy into clear action plans that make a tangible difference and leading performance improvement initiatives 

• Oversight and management of system deployments with vendors, including implementation planning, ensuring the production of the detailed project plan. 

• Development of small-scale applications which can deployed to clients, or for internal use. 

Qualifications & Experience 

• A degree in one of the following: Business, Economics, Mathematics, Commerce, Engineering, Maths. 

• A minimum of 2+ years’ professional experience in one of the following fields: management consulting, business analysis, or data and digital transformation. 

• Good understanding of business improvement approaches including business process engineering, system development, change management and other relevant techniques. 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

• Strong dashboard design and creative reporting skills. 

• Enthusiastic, ability to work autonomously and strong problem solving and consulting skills. 

• Knowledge of construction and capital project management activities 

• Strong stakeholder management and project management capability working in teams across multiple clients. 

Skills & Capabilities 

• Data management and analytical skills - Utilising technical data extraction, data transformation and data load and ingestion skills handling large data sets to create custom data tables for analytics purposes 

• Consulting and advisory skills - Ability to deliver collaborative project work along with generating, presenting, and communicating findings to both internal and client stakeholders 

• Project management – Ability to manage deadlines, track project progress, report on status, capture and escalate risks and effectively use agile project management software to manage deliverables 

• Technical data skills and systems: 

• Power BI, Tableau (Advanced - required) 

• SQL (Basic) 

• Python, R (Basic) 

• PowerApps, Power Automate (Basic) 

• Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Azure Logic Apps (Basic) 

• Visual Studio Code, Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) – (Basic) 

• Google BigQuery, Google Looker (Basic – preferred but not necessary) 

• Amazon Redshift, Amazon Athena, Amazon Glue (Basic – preferred but not necessary) 

• Jira, Trello, Planner, Microsoft Project (Basic)
