A leading private hospital group in Bristol is seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join their Male Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) ward on a part-time basis.
The hospital offers a range of specialist services across 77 beds, including Eating Disorders, Acute Mental Health, Adult PICU, Acquired Brain Injury, Huntington’s, and Dementia. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team, supporting patients with complex needs and taking a lead role in their care and recovery.
Key Responsibilities
•
Take clinical responsibility for patients on the Male PICU ward, including leading ward rounds, risk reviews, and care planning.

Act as Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
•
Supervise referrals, admissions, and pre-admission assessments.
•
Provide psychiatric expertise to the multidisciplinary team in assessment, formulation, and treatment of adults.
•
Contribute to the development of a therapeutic environment that promotes wellbeing, dignity, and recovery.
Requirements
•
GMC registration and inclusion on the Specialist Register.
•
Experience in adult psychiatry and PICU settings.
•
Strong teamwork and leadership skills.
