The Role
This role is for a full-time Consultant, based in New York.
Leading the analytical delivery of important projects and retainer work, a Consultant, Analytics is a key role within mediasense’s Analytics track.
The role primarily comprises of taking responsibility for analytical strands within pitch management projects (e.g. media buying, remuneration & commercials, etc.) and media investment performance tracking.
Close collaboration with analysts, senior analysts, managers and client leads is essential to ensure mediasense delivers high quality work within the agreed timeframe and to the correct technical specification.
The role itself will involve a range of activities including:
Working with Directors, Managers, and Analysts to deliver pitch management projects (e.g. media buying, remuneration & commercials, etc.) and media investment performance tracking
For pitches, this includes setting up media buying, remuneration and tech evaluation exercises, assessment of multiple media agency offers and capabilities, and producing client ready outputs using Tableau and other proprietary tools
Ensuring projects are set up to succeed, establishing project timelines and ways of working with a team of analysts, in line with mediasense’s ways of working
Liaising with client team members to keep them informed of progress and highlighting any major issues that might hinder a project’s progress
Provide insight and construct narrative around the data and analyses produced by junior members of the team and have oversight of data to ensure information is accurate and meets required quality standards
Attendance at client meetings to present findings and engage in stakeholder discussions, particularly around media measurement and performance matters
Liaise with local affiliates where required to obtain presentation materials, adjustment factors, new baselines, etc. or to assist with agency negotiations
Line management of Managers, Analytics, including goal setting, regular check-ins, and bi-annual performance reviews.
Keeping informed of, and sharing, latest developments across the media & marketing landscape, supported by internal & external training opportunities
Consider ways in which the company can innovate in terms of its outputs, products, tools, and processes, making things better or more efficient
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have the following:
5+ Years of experience at a media agency, consultancy or client side
Excellent knowledge of trading, investment, planning and buying practices across all media channels (online and offline); especially in the US market
Strong grasp of media math, analytics and advanced user of Excel
Strong understanding of offline and online data sources, and their quality and limitations
Able to run data from Nielsen; and ideally also Google (DV360), Meta, Amazon DSP, etc.
Strong knowledge of Tableau; knowledge of Alteryx, PowerBI, VBA and any programming languages is a plus
Able to use software to structure data in a clear and methodical way, spotting patterns and trends in the data to extract relevant insights
Positive and productive attitude that proactively find solutions to problems, constructively balancing speed and quality of delivery
Strong account management skills
Strong report writing and presentation skills, including communicating complex concepts clearly across different audiences
Able to establish strong client and agency relationships
Able to persuade and influence key internal and external stakeholders
Able to manage, inspire and delegate to junior members of the team
Able to contribute to product innovation
NOTE:
This is a full-time position based in our New York office
Competitive Salary $130,000 – $150,000 Per Year
