Job Overview:
This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level or early-career professional interested in construction scheduling and project planning. You will learn how to develop, maintain, and analyze construction schedules that support safe, efficient, and successful project delivery.
Working alongside experienced project managers and superintendents, you will gain hands-on exposure to real-world construction operations while developing technical and professional skills.
You will assist in tracking project progress, identifying potential schedule impacts, and supporting teams from preconstruction through project closeout.
Responsibilities:
Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining construction schedules based on project scope and field input.
Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and field teams to track progress and identify schedule changes.
Support estimating and preconstruction efforts by helping integrate timelines, labor projections, and sequencing.
Learn and apply critical path concepts to understand schedule impacts and project risks.
Assist with schedule updates for proposals, RFPs, and business development efforts.
Help monitor schedule performance and prepare clear reports for project teams.
Support the integration of safety planning and risk mitigation into project schedules.
Maintain organized scheduling documentation and records for communication and transparency.
Review schedule milestones and contractual requirements with guidance from senior team members.
Learn and utilize scheduling software, tools, and emerging technologies to improve efficiency.
Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
Entry-level to early-career experience in construction, engineering, or project coordination (internships and co-op experience welcome).
Familiarity or willingness to learn scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
Basic understanding of construction sequencing and project workflows.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
Willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and industry best practices.
Strong work ethic and interest in building a long-term career in construction.
Valid California driver’s license.
Ability to pass a criminal background check for facility badging.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education, internships, or early-career experience.
Commitment to learning and professional development in construction scheduling and project planning.
Experience:
Entry-level experience developing or assisting with project schedules.
Understanding of basic critical path and scheduling concepts.
Ability to manage schedule updates and adapt to changing priorities.
Comfortable working with both field and office teams.
Proactive mindset with a desire to learn and grow professionally.
