The Construction Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules for commercial electrical construction projects. This role supports project teams by ensuring accurate planning, sequencing, and progress tracking across multiple lump-sum projects, working closely with project managers, field leadership, and general contractors.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical scheduling expertise in Primavera P6 with practical field knowledge of electrical construction means, methods, and sequencing.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities
• Develop detailed baseline schedules in Primavera P6 for lump-sum commercial electrical projects
• Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and estimators to define scope sequencing, durations, and resource loading
• Integrate electrical scope into GC master schedules and ensure alignment with overall project milestones
• Perform schedule updates, progress tracking, and variance analysis
• Identify critical path activities, float erosion, and potential delays
• Provide recovery plans and mitigation strategies when schedule risks arise
• Support monthly schedule reporting, including narratives and executive summaries
• Participate in project planning meetings, including preconstruction and coordination meetings
• Review subcontractor and vendor schedules for alignment with electrical scope
• Assist in claims support and delay analysis when required
• Standardize scheduling practices across projects and improve internal processes
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in construction scheduling, preferably within electrical or MEP trades
• Demonstrated proficiency in Primavera P6 (required)
• Strong understanding of commercial construction sequencing and trade coordination
• Experience working with general contractors on lump-sum projects
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills with both field and executive teams
Preferred Qualifications
• Background in electrical construction (field or project management experience strongly preferred)
• Experience with multi-project scheduling environments
• Familiarity with resource loading and cost-loaded schedules
• Knowledge of delay analysis techniques (e.g., TIA, forensic scheduling)
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
