Construction Safety Manager

We are seeking a Construction Safety Manager to oversee health, safety, and environmental compliance across industrial and commercial construction projects in Gardena, CA. This full-time onsite role is responsible for implementing safety programs, monitoring jobsite conditions, and ensuring all work activities meet OSHA regulations and company safety standards.

The Safety Manager will work closely with project managers, field supervisors, and subcontractors to maintain a safe work environment across active construction sites. Projects may involve industrial coatings, surface preparation, protective coatings, and general construction activities within commercial and industrial facilities.

This position is ideal for a safety professional who thrives in field environments, understands construction safety practices, and is committed to proactive risk prevention and regulatory compliance.

Industrial project experience is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor safety programs across construction and industrial job sites
• Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA and industry safety regulations
• Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and training sessions for field personnel and subcontractors
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety violations while implementing corrective actions
• Maintain accurate safety documentation, reports, and compliance records
• Identify potential jobsite hazards and implement preventive safety controls
• Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce safety procedures
• Coordinate with project management and field teams to promote safe work practices
• Support environmental compliance and safety procedures related to industrial coatings and surface preparation work
• Assist with safety audits, regulatory inspections, and internal compliance reviews

Requirements:
• Proven experience in construction safety management or jobsite safety supervision
• Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards and construction safety regulations
• Experience conducting safety training, jobsite inspections, and incident investigations
• Ability to identify jobsite hazards and implement corrective safety measures
• Excellent communication and leadership skills when working with field teams
• Strong documentation and reporting abilities
• Ability to work onsite in Gardena, CA

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on industrial or heavy commercial construction projects
• OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training
• Knowledge of environmental health and safety (EHS) practices in construction or industrial environments
• Experience supporting projects involving coatings, surface preparation, or industrial maintenance
