AlphaHire is recruiting on behalf of a client seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee commercial building projects in Morgantown, West Virginia. This role is responsible for managing projects from preconstruction through completion, ensuring work is delivered on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality and safety standards.
The ideal candidate has experience managing commercial construction projects, coordinating subcontractors, and maintaining strong communication with clients, field teams, and leadership.
Responsibilities
• Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through final completion
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost forecasts
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to ensure efficient project execution
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
• Monitor project progress and resolve issues impacting schedule or budget
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
• Conduct regular job site visits to ensure safety and quality standards are maintained
• Communicate project updates to leadership, clients, and stakeholders
• Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and project teams
Requirements:
• 5+ years of experience managing commercial construction projects
• Experience overseeing ground-up construction and renovation projects
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, contracts, and project documentation
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and managing project schedules
• Ability to manage project budgets, change orders, and cost controls
• Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
• Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
Preferred Experience
• Experience working with general contractors or commercial builders
• Background in multi-trade construction coordination
• Familiarity with project management platforms such as Procore, Buildertrend, or similar tools
• Experience managing projects in higher education, healthcare, or institutional environments
