Job Overview:
RBA Builders is seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional ready to take on increased responsibility while further developing their expertise in project planning, coordination, and execution.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and driven individual who enjoys problem solving, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and playing an active role in managing commercial construction projects from start to finish.
Responsibilities:
Apply practical field experience to support construction operations, including coordination across multiple project types and scopes
Read and interpret project documents such as drawings, specifications, and reports with a strong understanding of their impact on execution
Manage submittals, shop drawings, and maintain accurate, well-organized project documentation and logs
Coordinate with project teams on RFIs, change orders, and cost tracking to support overall project performance
Contribute to estimating efforts, including bid package development, scope analysis, and review of subcontractor proposals
Assist in managing project schedules, procurement activities, and tracking critical path milestones
Partner with Superintendents and Project Managers to support day-to-day execution, problem-solving, and project closeout
Build and maintain professional relationships with subcontractors, architects, and clients to support successful project delivery
Promote and uphold safety standards, ensuring compliance with jobsite procedures and documentation requirements
Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills while balancing multiple responsibilities and deadlines
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
Strong ability to read and interpret construction plans, scopes, and specifications
Working knowledge of construction-related software, including scheduling tools and project management platforms
Skills:
Project Management Software: Proficient in Procore (or similar platforms) for documentation control, coordination, and project tracking
Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
Analytical Ability: Capable of independently reviewing plans and project documents to identify potential issues and propose solutions
Technical Tools: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); working knowledge of Bluebeam preferred
Time Management: Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
Abilities:
Problem Solving: Proactively identifies issues and contributes to effective solutions with minimal oversight
Organizational Skills: Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage and maintain accurate records and project documentation
Team Collaboration: Collaborates effectively within team environments, contributing to shared project goals and outcomes

Certifications:
Procore Project Management Certified (preferred, not required)
LEED Green Associate (preferred)
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (preferred)
Working Conditions:
This role involves both office and site locations.
Physical demands include walking, standing, and occasional lifting.
The position requires visits to construction sites, including wearing appropriate safety PPE.
