Turner & Townsend are leaders in professional services to the Data Centre sector globally. Due to the continued success and expansion of our Data Centre business, we are currently recruiting for a Construction Manager to join our Data Centre team in Spain.

This site-based project role is an ideal role for a quality driven professional with excellent communications and client management skills, looking to work on large impactful projects.

Responsibilities:

• Primary point of contact for the Construction, Commissioning, and Handover phases with the PMO in Madrid and with the client’s construction leads

• Responsible for coordinating all parties involved on site: client, contractor(s), vendors, project management team, Health & Safety Coordinator, Commissioning agent, and others

• Responsible for verifying the development and progress of project construction

• Accountable for achieving the project’s schedule, cost, quality, and safety objectives

• Ensure the implementation of management procedures during the construction phase

• Supervise and coordinate site progress and planning, with support from the MEP Engineer

• Supervise site logistics and safety, supporting the Health & Safety Coordinator and relying on the on‑site H&S Supervisor

• Verify that the project is executed according to drawings and specifications

• Provide support and direct communication with the Project Management Team (Dirección Facultativa)

• Issue the minutes for Construction–site coordination meetings

• Approve the contractor’s construction sequences and methods

• Ensure and supervises construction cost management, supporting the Cost Manager

• Monitor contractor progress, both in production and planning

• Verify the Quality Plans of contractors and subcontractors

• Review the operation and maintenance manuals

 

• University degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field
• Several years of experience as a Construction/ CSA Manager for major construction projects; experiences in Data Centre Construction projects preferred
• Advanced skills with spreadsheets, report writing and presentations
• Strong and professional communication skills, with great organization skills, ability to multi-task
• Must have a “team attitude”, be self-motivated and be willing to support other groups and projects when required
• Entrepreneurial thinking, creativity and dynamism
• Fluent English & Spanish language
• Availability for on-site work
