Position Overview:
Rifenburg is looking for Construction Laborers to support a variety of heavy civil and site development projects across North Carolina. This role is hands-on and supports crews with daily operations including site prep, material handling, and general labor tasks.
Work may include projects such as site development, utilities, roadwork, and other civil construction work.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist crews with general labor duties as directed by site supervision
Prepare and clean job sites to maintain a safe work environment
Load, unload, and move materials, tools, and equipment
Assist with excavation, backfilling, grading, and site prep
Use hand tools and basic power tools as needed
Support equipment operators and skilled trades as needed
Flag traffic when required and maintain awareness of surroundings
Maintain tools and equipment in clean, working condition
Follow all company safety policies and wear required PPE at all times
Perform other duties as assigned
Experience/Education:
High School Diploma or GED preferred, prior construction or labor experience preferred but not required
Required Skills:
OSHA 10 preferred but not required
Valid driver’s license preferred
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
Willingness to participate in required trainings (OSHA, First Aid. /CPR, Flagger, etc.)
Strong work ethic and reliability
Ability to follow direction and work as part of a team
Willingness to learn and grow within the company
Positive attitude and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
Ability to communicate effectively with crew members and supervisor
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 80 lbs.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Must be able to travel to job sites as needed (day or overnight travel depending on project)
Must be able to work overtime, weekends, or nights when required
