Duties/Responsibilities:
Perform on-site construction inspection to verify compliance with project plans, specifications, and applicable codes and regulations.
Maintain daily inspection reports, photo documentation, and field records.
Monitor contractor activities for quality, safety, and adherence to project requirements and schedules.
Conduct field measurements and coordinate material testing as required.
Identify and report deficiencies, safety concerns, and non-compliant work.
Support project engineers with field verification, technical documentation, and construction coordination.
Verify installed quantities for progress payments and project documentation.
Assist with project administration, including maintaining project files, contractor coordination, and preparing closeout documentation.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
2+ years of experience in construction inspection, field engineering, or construction administration.
Strong understanding of construction methods and practices
Familiarity with applicable local, state, and federal construction standards and regulations
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, plans, and technical specifications
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inspection/reporting software.
Valid driver’s license
Certifications (Preferred but not required):
Western Alliance for Quality Transportation Construction (WAQTC)
Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (CESCL)
OSHA Safety Certification (e.g. OSHA 10 or 30)
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
Ability to travel to and access various construction sites.
May require standing, walking, climbing, and lifting materials.
Combination of field work and office-based administrative duties.
Occasional lifting of materials and equipment as required.
