Job Description
Location: Headquarters
Reports To: Director of Construction
Job Type: Full-Time
Business Entity: MCS (Magma Core Solutions), a Lava Island company
Welcome to Lava Island
Lava Island is an indoor play oasis where kids fly across trampolines, vanish into towering jungle gyms, dive into foam pits, and race down slides while families share pizza and celebrate birthdays in the party rooms. It is loud, bright, and full of energy.
Every one of those parks started as an empty space. Magma Core Solutions (MCS) is the team that builds them.
What You're Really Building
Most coordination work fades into the background. Orders, paperwork, logistics, the kind of behind-the-scenes work nobody notices until it goes wrong.
This is not that. Behind every Lava Island is a build with a hard opening date, dozens of contracts, thousands of orders, and a field crew living away from home to get it done. None of it moves without someone keeping it organized, visible, and on track. That someone is the Construction Coordinator.
When a park opens on time and the field never had to scramble, that is the job working. You will not be on the jobsite, but the build does not happen cleanly without you. That is real, and it is the heart of this role.
Why You'll Love Working at Lava Island
You are central to every park opening, not a back-office afterthought.
Real ownership of the construction-administration and logistics that keep builds on track.
A modern-tools environment. Procore and current systems, not spreadsheets and guesswork.
Variety and pace. Multiple parks at different stages, never the same day twice.
A company opening parks faster every year, and a role right in the middle of it.
Competitive pay, full benefits, and a headquarters team that takes the work seriously.
What You'll Do
You are the headquarters-based execution partner for the build-out of new Lava Island parks. You keep the paperwork, the orders, and the logistics moving so the field can build.
Run construction administration
Send and track subcontractor and vendor contracts through signature and return on the timing each build requires.
Process subcontractor pay applications, routed for approval through the Project Manager, so field work is not slowed by paperwork.
Manage RFIs, submittals, and project documentation in Procore, in coordination with the Superintendents and the Project Manager.
Be the single source of truth for where every park stands: what is contracted, ordered, received, and outstanding.
Coordinate travel and logistics
Book and manage hotels and extended-stay housing for Superintendents and other MCS staff working away from home on active builds.
Administer travel allowances and per diems in line with company policy, and reconcile them per project.
Adjust bookings as schedules shift, so field staff are in place when the build needs them and not handling it themselves.
Handle procurement
Place and track the orders each build requires, coordinate with the Denver warehouse on internally stocked items, and confirm everything arrives complete.
Resolve missing, damaged, or incorrect shipments and manage returns and replacements with vendors and carriers.
This role is detail-heavy, high-volume, and fast-moving. Success looks like a build that stays organized and a field team that never has to chase you.
Who We're Looking For
The Construction Coordinators who do well at MCS are:
Genuinely organized. Many contracts, many orders, travel for multiple field staff, several parks at once, all kept in disciplined order without dropping details.
Comfortable with technology. The job runs on Procore and modern workflow tools every day. People who retreat to personal spreadsheets do not thrive here.
Proactive communicators. You surface delays and risks before they become problems, and when a leader asks for status, the answer is already in the system.
Steady in a forming role. Some workflows are still being built as we scale. You engage constructively rather than waiting for everything to be settled.
Service-minded. You make the Project Manager's, the Superintendents', and the Program Director's work move. You own the execution without trying to own decisions that belong elsewhere.
What You'll Need
Five or more years in project coordination, construction administration, operations administration, or a comparable execution-focused role with heavy documentation discipline.
A track record of running multiple concurrent projects or workstreams without losing items in the shuffle.
Working proficiency with construction project management software. Procore experience strongly preferred; willingness to become a Procore power user required.
Working knowledge of project or workflow tools (Monday, Asana, Smartsheet, or similar).
Strong written communication. Contracts, vendor correspondence, and status updates all flow through this role.
Experience working with vendors, subcontractors, or suppliers in an administrative or transactional capacity.
Experience coordinating travel and accommodations for field-based or traveling staff is a plus.
Experience in commercial construction administration, retail or hospitality rollouts, or multi-site expansion is a plus.
Must pass a background check.
A full job description will be shared and walked through with you during the process, so you have the complete picture before moving forward.
