PACT (Pearson Accelerator Construction Team) is a General Partnership of Alberici, Amico, Kenaidan, and Obayashi, supported by design partners Egis, Mott MacDonald, and Weston Williamson + Partners. Together, we are delivering Accelerator, a major program of Pearson LIFT (Long-term Investment in Facilities and Terminals), Toronto Pearson's infrastructure development plan. This multi-year program is designed to address immediate passenger growth demands while preparing Canada’s largest airport for the future of air travel—including critical upgrades to airfield and infrastructure, greenhouse gas reduction initiatives, modernization of Terminals 1 and 3, and the creation of a world-class passenger experience.
JOB SUMMARY
The Constructability Manager will bridge design and construction for the Pearson Airport Accelerator Project (PACT), ensuring complex airfield and terminal infrastructure is built safely, efficiently, and on schedule. You’ll spearhead early contractor input, lead constructability reviews, and drive value-engineered solutions in collaboration with design consultants, GTAA, and field teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead constructability reviews on all design deliverables (design, shop drawings, BIM models).
Coordinate early contractor involvement and facilitate buildability input across multi-disciplinary teams.
Identify build challenges and propose alternative methods or materials to improve constructability.
Maintain and manage issue logs, RFIs, drawing clarifications, and variation requests.
Collaborate with design, commercial, scheduling, and site teams to align designs to field realities and maintain program flow.
Support value engineering workshops to review design and procurement alternatives for efficiency gains.
Participate in periodic site visits to observe constructability issues and generate actionable feedback.
Contribute to constructability-related updates in project risk registers.
Follow GTAA standards for airside construction: RAIC, safety protocols, and secure access.
Support handover readiness by ensuring drawings are constructable and meet as-built expectations.
WORK CONDITIONS
Based in Mississauga offices with frequent visits to Pearson site offices (airfield & terminal zones).
Full-time, 5 days/week, core hours 8:00–17:00 (1 hr lunch or per manager agreement).
RAIC and criminal background check mandatory.
DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, COMPETENCIES
8+ years in construction, with experience in aviation infrastructure (airfield, terminal, or groundside works).
Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Proven constructability review and value engineering experience in aviation or P3 projects.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across design, commercial, and field teams.
Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360/ACC, and Primavera or MS Project.
Familiar with GTAA construction protocols—RAIC, airside safety, secure site access.
Excellent coordination, documentation, and decision-tracking capabilities.
