The Opportunity
We are currently hiring Confined Space & Rope Rescue Emergency Response Technicians (ERTs) based in the Lower Mainland, BC. In this role, you will respond to emergency situations and support the safety of personnel, property, and the environment through effective emergency response services.
This is a casual / part-time position that may include day shifts, night shifts, weekends, and 8–12 hour shifts based on operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
Operations
Respond to emergency incidents including fires, spills, medical emergencies, and alarms using established rescue and response procedures.
Travel to client and project sites throughout the Lower Mainland, BC.
Perform duties in various weather and environmental conditions.
Remain on your feet and physically active for extended periods of time.
Maintain emergency response equipment and related assets.
Deliver training and support to staff and client personnel as required.
Communicate operational requirements with onsite representatives when necessary.
Ensure response activities are completed within required timelines.
Safety & Compliance
Follow company and client health, safety, environmental, and quality (HSEQ) policies and procedures.
Promote safe work practices and maintain safe working conditions.
Identify and report hazards, incidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions promptly.
Documentation & Reporting
Complete required documentation including work scopes, permits, and safety forms.
Maintain accurate emergency response records and reports.
Submit client-related reporting requirements as requested.
Required Qualifications
Valid Confined Space Operations or Technician certification meeting NFPA 1006 standards.
Valid Rope Rescue Operations or Technician certification meeting NFPA 1006 standards.
Confined Space Entry Monitor certification.
H2S Awareness certification.
Basic or Intermediate First Aid (OFA 1 or OFA 2).
Transportation Endorsement.
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a satisfactory driver’s abstract.
ICS 100 certification.
Physically capable of performing emergency response duties.
Working knowledge of SharePoint, Excel, Outlook, and WhatsApp.
Ability to successfully complete drug and alcohol testing as required.
Ability to successfully complete annual physical fitness testing.
Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
Professional and positive attitude.
Must be legally authorized to work in Canada and reside in the Lower Mainland, BC.
Preferred Qualifications
H2S Alive certification.
1–2 years of industrial emergency response experience.
Experience working under supplied air systems.
Experience using gas detection and area monitoring equipment.
NFPA 1006 Rope Rescue Technician certification.
Valid Class 3 Driver’s License with Q endorsement or higher.
Advanced First Aid, EMR, or higher-level medical certification.
Schedule
Casual / Part-Time / On-Call
