As a growing, team-oriented company, we’re looking for a Concrete Pavement Repair Laborer to join our crew.
The laborer role assists with a variety of construction tasks and equipment operations to repair severe cracking, faulted/broken slabs and damage. The employee may use tools and equipment such as jack hammers, power tools, welders, hand tools, shovels, flagger carts, crash trucks, and material-handling devices, and perform other duties as assigned. Training is provided; the employee must be able to work proficiently and with minimal supervision once trained.
Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions

Training provided; must be able to operate proficiently and with minimal supervision once trained.
May include use of equipment such as jack hammers, power tools, welders, hand tools, shovels, flagger carts, crash trucks, material handling devices and other as assigned to:
Mark repair boundaries/set cones and signage
Sawcut the perimeter of that slab to be repaired/replaced
Remove damaged concrete by jackhammer/chipping
Blow out debris and dust, sometimes sandblasting
Place repair material and finish to match grade/texture
Ensure curing per spec and reopen road to traffic
Maintain a high level of communication and awareness of where other workers are on the job site, at all times.
Inspect and maintain equipment routinely.
Manipulate machine levers with a great deal of coordination.
Participate in ongoing safety, equipment, and operational training.
Work extended hours, various shifts, and travel extensively (weeks to months).
Support yard days and perform additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications / Skills
Ability to safely learn and operate a variety of construction tools and equipment.
Completes assigned tasks to foreman expectations with minimal rework.
Strong communication and jobsite awareness.
Ability to follow instructions and work safely around moving equipment and crews.
Keeps equipment in good working order through routine inspections and care.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior construction experience (laborer/operator support).
Experience with heavy tools (jackhammer), welding, traffic control support, or material handling.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Physical expectations of this role include:
Frequent standing, walking, and use of hands/arms to operate machinery and tools.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more as needed for equipment handling.
Ability to climb, crawl, or work on/around machinery as essential to inspections and repairs.
Visual abilities including distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Ability to remain with equipment for extended periods and work long shifts.
All physical requirements are directly related to essential job tasks performed in active construction environments.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Outdoor work in all weather conditions, temperature extremes, and varying jobsite environments.
Noise levels requiring proper PPE.
Extensive travel—often weeks to months at a time.
Ability to work days, nights, or rotating shifts depending on project needs.
Primary shop location: Big Lake, MN.
