Concrete Form Workers

We are currently seeking skilled Concrete Form Workers for concrete work on the West Valley Line LRT project located in Edmonton. We offer competitive wages, work / life balance, great opportunity for advancement, training and potential for work over the winter.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

Build, erect and align forms for various concrete structures and pier foundations utilizing concrete forming systems.

Install rebar and tie rebar.

Dismantle concrete forms.

Provide assistance to other workers and foreman as necessary.

Perform rough levelling and shaping of concrete surfaces.

Spread concrete to specified depth and workable consistency.

Physical tasks, including sweeping, lifting, shoveling, wheelbarrowing, and moving heavy materials

Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed

Actively participate in all safety meetings

General site housekeeping

Required Skills:

Previous concrete formwork experience is require

Concrete placing experience an asset

Rebar experience an asset

Blueprint reading an asset

Ability to operate light duty machinery (skid steer/mini excavator) an asset

Familiarity with hand and power tools required

Physical ability to handle demanding tasks, such as, heavy lifting, standing, kneeling, bending and working outdoors in various weather conditions required

Class 5 license with reliable transportation

Safety conscious with experience working on large scale projects

Ability to work long hours (10+ hour days) outdoors in various weather conditions

Working understanding of site hazard assessments and able to complete daily safety documentation in an accurate and timely manner

Be fit for duty and prepared for work each day

Positive attitude / team player

Strong communication / listening skills and ability to follow direction
