Position Overview:
The Concierge is a newly created position at our Barrie Building Centre, reporting directly to the Property Manager. Serving as the first point of contact for tenants, visitors, and contractors, this role represents The M Group with professionalism, warmth, and strong operational awareness. The Concierge supports daily site operations by managing building access, coordinating visitor flow, responding to inquiries, and assisting with on-site logistics as needed, while helping maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming environment that aligns with company standards, safety protocols, and client service expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Greet and assist tenants, visitors, vendors, and contractors in a professional and courteous manner, serving as the primary point of contact at the building.
Monitor and control building access in accordance with established safety and security protocols, including managing visitor logs, contractor sign-ins, and badge issuance as required.
Coordinate contractor arrivals and direct trades to appropriate work areas while supporting delivery schedules and elevator bookings (where applicable).
Communicate site updates, notices, construction timelines, access changes, and temporary disruptions to tenants in a clear and timely manner.
Respond to tenant inquiries, manage incoming calls and emails, and escalate concerns to the Property Manager or appropriate parties as needed.
Report site issues, safety concerns, or incidents promptly and support the resolution process.
Maintain organized and accurate records of visitor logs, site communications, contractor lists, permits, and schedules.
Assist with document tracking and prepare basic site-related reports as requested.
Work in compliance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and The M Group’s health and safety policies, taking every reasonable precaution to protect personal and workplace safety.
Report hazards, unsafe conditions, incidents, or injuries immediately and participate in required health and safety training, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a concierge, front desk, customer service, or property operations role preferred.
Experience within a construction site or property management environment considered an asset.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with tenants, contractors, and visitors.
Demonstrated conflict resolution skills and the ability to remain calm and solution-focused in high-traffic or sensitive situations.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
Proficient in basic computer applications (e.g., email, Microsoft Office) and comfortable maintaining digital logs and records.
Comfortable working in an active construction environment and adapting to changing site conditions.
Reliable, punctual, and able to exercise sound judgment while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
