Computer Programmer (Secret Clearance Required)

NextGen Federal Systems is seeking a detail-oriented Computer Programmer to design, develop, and maintain software applications that support organizational systems and business processes. The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation, experience working with multiple programming languages, and the ability to contribute effectively throughout the software development life cycle.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications based on defined requirements
• Write, modify, and debug code using one or more supported programming languages
• Collaborate with analysts, developers, and other IT staff to implement technical solutions
• Participate in system and application testing, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
• Maintain documentation for application code, configurations, and technical procedures
• Support deployment, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance of software applications
• Follow established coding standards, security guidelines, and development best practices

Required Qualifications:
• Four-year degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a related Information Technology (IT) role
• Experience programming in one or more of the following languages or technologies: C++; Java / J2EE; Visual Basic; .NET; HTML / XML; PowerBuilder; Delphi
• Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) concepts and methodologies
• Active DoD Secret security clearance or higher

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience developing or supporting business or enterprise applications
• Familiarity with databases and basic SQL concepts
• Experience working in a team-based development environment
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
