About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Business Computer Hardware & Licensing Procurement Specialist to join our growing IT services organization. This role is critical to ensuring our clients and internal teams receive the right technology solutions—on time, on budget, and aligned with both technical and business requirements.
You will own the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for enterprise and commercial IT hardware, software licensing, and cloud subscriptions, working closely with engineering, sales, and vendor partners.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology, vendor management, cost optimization, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Hardware & Software Procurement
Procure business and enterprise-grade computing equipment including:
Laptops, desktops, workstations
Servers, storage, and networking equipment
Peripherals and accessories
Manage procurement of software and licensing, including:
Microsoft (M365, Azure, Windows, CALs)
Security, backup, and infrastructure platforms
OEM and third-party software subscriptions
Ensure all purchases align with client standards, SLAs, and internal architecture guidelines
Vendor & Partner Management
Maintain strong relationships with OEMs, distributors, and technology partners
Negotiate pricing, rebates, lead times, and supply chain constraints
Track warranties, renewals, lifecycle status, and end-of-life (EOL/EOS)
Work with authorized distributors and channel partners to maximize margin and availability
Quoting, Forecasting & Cost Control
Build accurate quotes and BOMs for client projects and managed services
Support sales and project teams with technical procurement guidance
Track procurement budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities
Forecast hardware and licensing needs based on project pipelines and MSP demand
Operations & Process
Oversee order placement, fulfillment, tracking, and delivery
Coordinate logistics, staging, asset tagging, and deployment readiness
Maintain procurement documentation, asset records, and licensing compliance
Improve procurement workflows, automation, and reporting
Required Experience & Qualifications
7+ years of hands-on experience in IT hardware and software procurement
Deep knowledge of:
Business and enterprise computer hardware (Dell, HP, Lenovo or equivalent)
Server and infrastructure platforms
Microsoft licensing models (M365, Azure, Windows Server, CALs)
Strong understanding of:
Warranty programs and lifecycle management
Supply chain and lead time constraints
MSP and project-based IT delivery models
Proven experience working with distributors, OEMs, and VARs
Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills
Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice-to-Have (But Not Required)
Experience in Managed Services or Systems Integrator environments
Familiarity with ERP, PSA, or procurement platforms
Exposure to cloud cost management and licensing optimization
Industry certifications or vendor partner program experience
