Compliance Monitoring Analyst
Ebury Nicosia Office - Hybrid: 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home per week
The Monitoring Analyst will be responsible for the second-line oversight of sales activities and trade execution. Your primary mission is to ensure that the firm’s distribution of derivatives aligns with MiFID II standards, specifically focusing on selling practices, suitability, and the "Best Execution" requirements.
What you’ll do
• Sales Practice Surveillance: Conduct reviews of front office interactions (calls, emails, and chats) to ensure products are sold in line with requirements.
• Best Execution Oversight: Monitor trade data to verify that the firm is taking all sufficient steps to obtain the best possible result for clients. This involves analyzing price, cost, speed, and likelihood of execution/settlement for derivative instruments.
• Suitability & Appropriateness Testing: Review client files to ensure that Appropriateness Tests or Suitability Reports are accurately completed and reflect the client’s actual risk appetite.
• Thematic reviews: Investigation of industry and regulatory findings, assessing and comparing policies and processes to identify potential shortcomings and advise on remediations.
• Policy Evolution: Keep the firm’s Best Execution Policy and Product Governance Framework up to date.
• Referral review: Conduct reviews of front office interactions (calls, emails, and chats) to ensure referrals into EPEU are performed within requirements.
What you’ll need
• Education: Bachelor’s degree
• Experience: 2–5 years experience in a financial services firm
• Language: Good command of English
• Competencies:
• Strong analytical skills
• Awareness of MiFID regulations
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Deadline management
• Highly organised and adaptable
• Ability to work independently but collaboratively with other departments.

• Certifications: AML or Compliance certifications
