The Competitive Intelligence Manager, reporting to the Head Seeds R&D Partnerships and Open Innovation, is a member of the Seeds R&D Partnerships and External Innovation Management team, with the responsibility to establish the functional capability for competitive and technology intelligence within Seeds Research China and provide support to Syngenta Group China.

Required Knowledge/Qualifications/Experience

• Broad knowledge of the seeds research and product development and associated functions (e.g. Intellectual property, regulatory affairs)
• 10+ years experience in Seeds R&D roles, experience in a seed company / biotechnology company / agriculture technology start-up preferred.
• Undergraduate degree, PhD is a preferred in a relevant fields e.g. plant science, plant molecular biology, plant genetics/genomics or closely related Life Science degree.
• Experience working in highly collaborative environment and effectively communicating to audiences from diverse technical backgrounds.
• Ability to collaborate across different functions, businesses, countries and cultures.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

• Latest concepts in competitive and strategic analysis.
• Experience in outside-in analysis of science, IP, pipelines and industrial players
• Experience in stakeholder engagement across all management levels in the organization

• Leadership, collaboration and problem-solving skills. 
• Oral and written communications skills, as well as organization skills and the ability to manage projects within a matrix organizational structure. 
• Multi-task management skills will be required.
