Overview of the Role
The Company Nurse is responsible for protecting and promoting the health, safety, and well-being of all team members. The role supports occupational health programs, workplace injury/illness response, and wellness initiatives to maintain a safe, productive, and engaged workforce. The Company Nurse partners closely with the Company Doctor, Health & Safety Officer, and People & Culture to execute health services, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with ERT and OSH to implement occupational health and safety programs with DOLE standards.
• Maintain readiness of the company clinic, ensuring cleanliness, safety and equipment functionality.
• Administer first-aid and emergency care; ensure proper documentation and referral to partner hospitals when needed.
• Provide medical advice within the scope of practice and coordinate with the Company Doctor for higher-level interventions.
• Assist the Company during the consultations and ensure proper treatment protocols are followed.
• Validate and verify medical certificates and diagnostics tests submitted by team members.
• Spearhead and implement wellness, preventive health, and lifestyle improvement programs, especially those mandated by DOLE.
• Coordinate Annual Physical Exams (APE) and consolidate medical results for monitoring and compliance.
• Guide APE results and assist the Company Doctor in recommending interventions for team members.
• Ensure compliance with all DOLE-required reports, medical documentation, logs and OSH standards.
• Maintain accurate and confidential medical records following data privacy requirements.
• Handle HMO enrollment, updates, and removal of team members.
• Conduct HMO orientation for new hires and guide team members regarding benefits utilisation, claims, and procedures.
• Assist team members in HMO reimbursement processes and coordinate with provider representatives for escalations.
• Maintain and monitor inventory of medicines, supplies, and equipment, ensuring availability and proper usage.
• Manage the Sick Leave Hotline; provide timely responses and coordinate matters with the team leaders.
• Coordinate with People & Culture for 201 file medical requirements.
• Participate in internal audits, safety committee meetings, and wellness initiatives.
• Perform other tasks necessary to ensure smooth and effective operations of the clinic and wellness programs.
Requirements:
• Registered Nurse with an active PRC license
• Preferably holds the following training certificates: Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH), Basic Life Support, and First Aid
• With at least 2 years of work experience as a company nurse
• Undergone 40-hour training as a Safety Officer (preferred but not required)
• Proficient in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, and other basic administrative or productivity applications.
• Must possess good interpersonal relationship skills
• Must be proficient in oral and written communication
• Thorough and keen on details
• Ability to work independently and/or with a team
• Office administration and clerical work
