Based in Maskwacîs, the successful candidate will lead and support the Moms’ Support & Healing Circle program under the guidance of the Program Manager, Community Wellness & Engagement. This role creates and holds safe, respectful, strength-based spaces where Cree mothers and caregivers reconnect to teachings, strengthen identity, build parenting confidence, and restore emotional and spiritual wellbeing. The Facilitator supports intergenerational healing, relational accountability, and community belonging through circle practice, ceremony, and holistic maternal supports grounded in Cree worldviews and wahkohtowin.
What you might do in a day…
Plan and facilitate Moms’ Healing Circle gatherings grounded in Cree teachings and wahkohtowin principles;

Integrate ceremony, storytelling, traditional knowledge, and strength-based dialogue in collaboration with Elders and Knowledge Keepers;
Establish and uphold circle agreements, confidentiality, and respectful participation;
Provide strengths-based guidance related to parenting confidence, attachment, emotional regulation, and healthy boundaries;
Support mothers navigating pregnancy, postpartum recovery, child welfare involvement, reunification, grief, or system barriers;
Recognise and affirm cultural identity as a source of resilience and leadership;
Identify when additional supports may be needed and coordinate appropriate referrals to health, mental health, addictions, housing, parenting, or family services;
Maintain accurate participation records and case notes consistent with FNIGC standards and OCAP® principles;
Participate in team meetings, reflective supervision, and multidisciplinary discussions while upholding confidentiality;
Contribute to internal reports, funding summaries, and program evaluations; and
Represent the program in community spaces and build collaborative relationships with service providers and leadership.
If you are…
Respectful, culturally grounded, and committed to uplifting Cree mothers and families;
Comfortable facilitating circles and group discussions that may involve trauma, grief, or sensitive life experiences;
Skilled at building trust and maintaining appropriate professional boundaries;
Emotionally steady and resilient, able to hold space for complex maternal and family realities;
Knowledgeable about Cree teachings related to women, family, and wahkohtowin;
Compassionate, patient, and grounded in a strengths-based worldview;
Adaptable and flexible, willing to work occasional evenings or weekends to align with community priorities; and
A positive, solution-oriented individual who believes in the strength and leadership of mothers.
And you have. . .
