Position Summary: Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, designs, drafts and edits publications and promotional materials. Maintains website. Obtains and compiles information and ensures its accuracy and completeness. Coordinates the production and distribution of publications and promotional materials. Acts as resource person. Monitors accounts. Major Duties and Responsibilities: Designs, drafts and edits publications, communications and promotional materials such as brochures, invitations, newsletters, and press releases. Consults appropriate documentation and persons to obtain and compile information. Ensures its accuracy and completeness. Identifies and corrects errors. Coordinates the production and distribution of publications and promotional materials. Maintains website. Prepares schedules. Gives instructions to others such as typesetters, printers, mailing houses and translators regarding job specifications. Obtains quotations. Liaises with others. Acts as resource person and resolves problems. Maintains and updates records, databases, and mailing lists. Prepares reports. Prepares budgets and budget proposals, verifies invoices and monitors expenditures. Maintains inventory of supplies. Uses equipment such as a personal computer, fax machine, photocopier, calculator, and other standard office equipment. Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively. Experience working with Indigenous communities and fostering respectful relationships. Proficiency with digital tools and platforms: Envoke, Canva, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Suite, and social media (TikTok, X, Facebook, Instagram). Ability to organize workflows and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines. Familiarity with marketing, communications, and social media best practices (2–3 years experience preferred). Strong writing and editing skills in English; basic French (spoken and written) is an asset. Photography and video skills; graphic design background is an asset.
