A Communications Intern (Multi-Media) position is available with the City of Fort Worth Water Department in the Public Education and Customer Engagement section of the Customer Care Division.

We’re looking for someone who truly embodies our values—delivering exceptional customer experiences, showing mutual respect, embracing diversity, striving for continuous improvement, acting ethically, and taking accountability. As an intern, you’ll collaborate closely with our Communications team to help share important public information and support social media efforts for the Water Utility. Your work will help our community stay informed, connected, and engaged.

The Communications Intern may work up to 19 hours per week. The internship is expected to conclude in September 2026.

Minimum Qualifications:

• No previous work experience is required

• Working towards a specialization in a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate's degree from an accredited college or university with good academic standing and major coursework in Communications, Journalism, or Marketing field of study

Preferred Qualifications:

• Skills in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint

Communication Intern - Multi-Media job responsibilities include:

• Jump into the world of digital storytelling by supporting a wide range of social media projects for Water Utility. You’ll help create, design, and execute campaigns that inform, inspire, and connect with our community

• Bring ideas to life by developing eye‑catching marketing materials—from fliers and brochures to scroll‑stopping social media graphics

• Get hands-on creative experience through photography, filming, and video editing, contributing to high‑quality visual content

• Support audio production by assisting with recording and editing, helping shape clear, engaging messages across our communication channels
