Play a key role in shaping how AFCA communicates about scams, both internally and externally. You’ll coordinate, develop and deliver communications across digital, media, events and stakeholder channels, ensuring AFCA’s messaging is accurate, accessible and aligned with our strategic priorities.
Working closely with the External Communications & Sub‑Brand Manager, you’ll help bring the Scams EDR program to life through purposeful content, strong storytelling and a clear understanding of what our audiences need. This is an entry level position, for someone at the start of their communications career and initially a 12 month contract. 
In this role, you will:
• Coordinate and deliver communications across digital, media, events and stakeholder channels for AFCA’s scams EDR activity.
• Produce clear, engaging content that explains AFCA’s role in the Scams Prevention Framework and the Scams EDR Scheme.
• Partner with senior leaders to develop communications that support AFCA’s strategic priorities, particularly scams‑related initiatives.
• Manage and maintain AFCA’s scams digital presence, ensuring quality content design, accessibility and a strong user experience.
• Support delivery of key initiatives such as the scams sub‑brand launch and related campaigns.
• Apply best‑practice communication and stakeholder engagement approaches, with a focus on scams information and audience needs.
• Work closely with the Communications & Stakeholder Engagement Lead and broader team to deliver coordinated, high‑quality engagement.
• Track, measure and report on communication effectiveness, making recommendations for improvement.
• Carry out other duties as required to support team and program objectives.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications or experience in communication, public relations or related relevant field
• Customer focused and committed to providing excellent customer service to all stakeholders who use AFCA’s service
• Knowledge and understanding of modern communications strategy, best practice and channels
• Excellent communications skills, including the ability to write, edit and produce highly professional communications solutions across a range of modern media and channels
• High level of interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels
• A team player, with emotional intelligence and sound judgement whilst collaborating and cooperating on decisions and initiatives
