Hiring Unit:
Student Wellness Hub – Healthy Living Annex

The Student Wellness Hub provides a range of health services to McGill students with a focus on awareness, prevention, and early intervention. The Student Wellness Hub has a variety of clinicians that provide one-on-one appointments, therapy groups and other services. Within the Student Wellness Hub, the Healthy Living Annex focuses on health promotion and offers peer support programs for both the Macdonald and downtown campuses. 

Position Summary:

The Hub Student Greeters will be working in an environment where equity, diversity and inclusion are of the utmost importance. This position will involve interacting with students and staff at the Student Wellness Hub. Based on daily interactions with students, the employee must recognize the importance of providing a respectful, inclusive environment in which students feel safer and comfortable. The employee will be working in a clinical setting with students from various backgrounds, cultures and gender identities. The employee’s primary responsibility will be to provide information and help students navigate the physical space of the Student Wellness Hub. The employee’s secondary but equally important role will be as a subject matter expert in accessing the Hub and other on-campus and off-campus resources with an emphasis on Peer Support Programs. The ideal candidate should be familiar with Hub programming, services and philosophy. They should also exhibit a level of professionalism and diplomacy when handling confidential information and interacting with vulnerable student populations. The ideal candidate must be an active student at McGill University, and eligible for the work-study program. Students who are not eligible for work-study program will not be considered.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greets and assists students entering the Student Wellness Hub
• Answers specific inquires, including detailed information regarding the Student Wellness Hub and services offered to students.
• Informs students of resources within the Student Wellness Hub and community resources.
• Provides navigation and direction at the various reception areas within the Student Wellness Hub.
• Provides students with personal protective equipment, and ensures infection control procedures are being followed (Ex. hand sanitizing, distance guidelines, etc)
• Provides students information on additional Hub, on-campus, and off campus resources with an emphasis on connecting students with Peer Support programming.
• Please note this position is in-person and physical presence on campus is necessary to perform all duties of the role

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

Required:

• Eligible for Work Study
• Current McGill student who has completed a minimum of one academic year at McGill
• Current McGill student who will be enrolled in a degree program for the 2026 academic year
• Familiarity with the Student Wellness Hub
• Service oriented with great interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task, problem-solve and work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where the day-to-day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 4 - verbal (Fluent) and a level 3 - written (Advanced) on a scale of 0-4. 
• Available to work 12-14 hours a week (Monday to Friday) for the 2026 Academic year
