Job Title: Commissioning Engineer – Electrical / I&C
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
Project Type: Large-Scale Thermal Power Plant Project
Employment Type: Full-time / Project-Based
The Commissioning Engineer will support the preparation and execution of electrical and instrumentation & control commissioning activities, ensuring proper testing, system readiness, and safe handover to operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Support commissioning activities for electrical and I&C systems
• Review test procedures, commissioning dossiers, and system turnover documentation
• Verify system readiness and support mechanical completion and punch clearance activities
• Coordinate with construction, vendors, QA/QC, and operations teams
• Witness testing, energization, loop checks, and functional testing activities
• Support troubleshooting and resolution of commissioning issues
• Ensure proper documentation and handover records are maintained
• Follow all HSE and commissioning procedures during execution
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or related discipline
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
• Strong commissioning background in thermal power plant projects, preferably CCGT
• Good knowledge of electrical systems, control systems, testing, and plant startup activities
• Strong coordination and reporting skills
Preferred Profile
• GCC project experience
• Exposure to DCS, protection systems, switchgear, and commissioning interfaces
