Novotel & Adagio Premium Dubai Al Barsha is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis I - Arabic to join our culinary team. As a Commis I, you will play a crucial role in supporting our kitchen operations while specializing in Arabic cuisine. This position offers an excellent opportunity for aspiring chefs to gain valuable experience in a professional kitchen environment.
• Assist in the preparation of Arabic dishes, including appetizers, main courses, and desserts
• Follow recipes and cooking techniques as directed by senior kitchen staff
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
• Properly handle and store ingredients, ensuring freshness and quality
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely food service
• Participate in menu planning and development of new Arabic dishes
• Assist in inventory management and stock rotation
• Contribute to a positive and productive kitchen atmosphere
• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school diploma or certificate preferred
• Basic culinary skills and knowledge of Arabic cuisine
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices preferred
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
• Knowledge of Arabic ingredients, cooking techniques, and Middle Eastern flavors
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Basic English language skills; fluency in Arabic is a plus
