We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Commis to join our culinary team in Cairo, Egypt. As a Commis, you will work under the guidance of experienced chefs, supporting the preparation and execution of high-quality dishes while developing your culinary skills in a dynamic kitchen environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about food and eager to grow within the culinary profession.

• Assist senior chefs in the preparation of ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning
• Prepare basic dishes and components according to established recipes and culinary standards
• Maintain and organize your workstation, ensuring efficient workflow and cleanliness throughout your shift
• Support the mise en place process by gathering and arranging all necessary ingredients and equipment
• Follow all food safety and sanitation protocols to maintain the highest standards of kitchen hygiene
• Contribute to the plating and presentation of dishes, ensuring consistency and visual appeal
• Collaborate with kitchen team members to meet service demands and support overall kitchen operations
• Monitor food quality and report any concerns to senior staff
• Assist with inventory management and stock rotation as needed
• Demonstrate flexibility by supporting various kitchen stations and tasks as required

• Culinary training or certification (CAP, diploma, or equivalent qualification in culinary arts)
• Knowledge of basic culinary techniques and food preparation methods
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
• Proficiency with kitchen equipment and basic knife skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities
