Required Skills
Job Description
There are commercial tile contractors, and then there are the ones that general contractors call first — not because they're the cheapest bid, but because they deliver. Our client has built a reputation over decades as one of the premier commercial tile and flooring subcontractors in the region, recognized nationally among the top tier of tile contractors in the country. They work across a wide range of project types — hotels, senior living communities, multifamily, restaurants, office and retail, churches, and exterior applications — and they do it with an in-house team that takes ownership from concept through completion. If you're a Project Manager who knows the difference between a skilled tile operation and a general finish sub, this is the kind of shop you've been looking for.
What You'll Own
• Manage the full lifecycle of commercial tile and flooring projects from pre-construction through punch list and closeout
• Serve as the primary point of contact for general contractors, owners, and design teams on active projects
• Coordinate labor, material procurement, and subcontractor scheduling to maintain project timelines and budgets
• Partner with the estimating and pre-construction team on value engineering, material specifications, and scope review
• Oversee field crews and ensure quality standards are met across tile, stone, panel systems, and floor prep scopes
• Identify and resolve project issues proactively — RFIs, change orders, schedule conflicts — before they become problems
• Maintain accurate project documentation including submittals, schedules, daily reports, and job cost tracking
Requirements:
• Demonstrated experience as a Project Manager specifically within commercial tile, ceramic, stone, or flooring — this is a specialty trade role, not a general finish PM position
• Working knowledge of commercial tile systems: ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, panel installation, floor prep, and grout/restoration scopes
• Ability to read construction documents and interpret tile/flooring specifications with confidence
• Experience coordinating across multi-trade commercial environments — hotels, multifamily, senior living, or similar project types preferred
• Strong communication skills with GCs, owners, vendors, and field crews
• Familiarity with material procurement and manufacturer relationships is a plus
• Self-directed work style; comfortable managing multiple active projects simultaneously without a lot of hand-holding
Benefits:
Competitive salary based on experience.
Benefits may include health insurance, retirement plan options, paid time off, and other company-sponsored programs.
