Commercial Manager

Are you ready to take ownership of high-value data center construction projects and play a key role in the continued growth of STACK Infrastructure across EMEA?

STACK Infrastructure is currently looking for a Commercial Manager to join our high-performing EMEA Commercial Team, which oversees more than €1 billion in annual capital expenditure. This is a pivotal role where you will lead the day-to-day commercial management of complex, high-value data center projects — from pre-contract planning to post-contract delivery.

You'll drive cost optimization, maintain financial control, manage commercial risk, and ensure accurate and timely reporting to support business decisions. Working closely with Senior Commercial Managers and Commercial Directors, you’ll help shape project outcomes across one of the most dynamic and fast-paced environments in the infrastructure space. 

Fluency in both German and English is essential, as this role requires regular collaboration with regional stakeholders and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

Lead commercial delivery of major data center construction projects across EMEA

Optimize construction costs while ensuring financial discipline and control

Own and maintain project budgets and CAPEX models to inform business planning

Deliver accurate and timely cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow analysis

Manage external consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders across disciplines

Support procurement, supply chain, and contract management activities

Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Construction, Finance & Operations teams

Stay ahead of regional regulatory developments and best practices

Personal competencies

Highly motivated and commercially astute, with a strong appreciation for the role of Development & Construction within the broader business strategy

Fluent in German and English – both technical and professional communication

Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and convey complex technical matters clearly

Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency and accountability in driving project delivery

Prioritizes health, safety, and wellbeing in all aspects of work

Results-driven, with a continuous improvement mindset and a focus on evolving business practices

Fluent in both German and English, with the ability to communicate professionally and technically in both languages

 Job practicalities / Skills

7+ years’ experience in commercial management of complex construction projects

Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, Construction, Finance, or related field

Experience with data center or major infrastructure projects in Germany/Switzerland

Skilled in full lifecycle commercial activities (pre- and post-construction)

Track record of setting commercial strategies and managing project teams

Strong stakeholder management, reporting, and collaboration skills

Innovative thinker, cost-conscious, and delivery-focused

Proactive approach to health, safety, and wellbeing
