Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Commercial Relationship Manager for a top Regional Bank in Virginia Beach, VA.
While many institutions have pivoted exclusively to deposit-gathering, our client remains an active lender in both C&I and CRE markets. This role is responsible for driving the commercial lending process, from aggressive prospecting and loan origination to complex credit analysis and portfolio management. The ideal candidate is a high-performing "generalist" with a strong focus on C&I, capable of navigating complex risk assessments while building a personal brand within a reputable community bank.
Job Responsibilities
• Business Development: Actively prospect and acquire new commercial loan customers to generate new business and expand the bank's local market share.
• Credit Evaluation: Assess the financial health and creditworthiness of businesses by analyzing complex financial statements, tax returns, and credit reports.
• Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain long-term client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor to provide tailored lending and financial solutions.
• Loan Structuring: Collaborate with clients to structure transactions, prepare comprehensive loan packages, and ensure 100% accuracy in documentation.
• Risk Mitigation: Conduct thorough risk assessments for each application; develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified financial and market risks.
• Financial Analysis: Perform deep-dive cash flow and profitability analysis to determine loan feasibility in compliance with strict regulatory requirements.
• Portfolio Monitoring: Monitor the ongoing performance of the existing loan portfolio, identifying potential red flags and taking proactive steps to mitigate losses.
Requirements:
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business is REQUIRED.
• A Master’s degree (MBA) is a significant plus.
Experience
• Minimum of ten (10) or more years of experience as a Commercial Loan Officer or Relationship Manager is REQUIRED.
• Proven track record in a banking or financial services environment with a focus on C&I (Commercial & Industrial) and CRE (Commercial Real Estate).
• Strong history of meeting or exceeding loan origination targets.

• Financial Acumen: Advanced understanding of financial statements, cash flow analysis, and credit risk assessment.
• Strategic Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to present complex financial data to C-suite executives.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Deep familiarity with commercial lending practices, loan documentation, and current banking regulations.
