BTJ Insurance, a Leavitt Group affiliate located in Bristol, VA, is looking for an experienced Commercial Lines Account Manager to join our team. This role provides essential support to the commercial lines manager and account executive team, playing a key role in servicing and retaining commercial accounts.
Job Overview
The Commercial Lines Account Manager will assist with preparing submissions, proposals, certificates, and other client-facing documents, while ensuring accuracy and consistency across all stages of the commercial insurance process. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and experience working in a fast-paced agency environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare applications for submission using underwriting information from the producer
• Collaborate daily with the Commercial Lines Manager and Account Managers to meet project deadlines
• Support service staff with time-sensitive tasks and workflows
• Assist with marketing strategies, including working with selected markets and following up on quotes
• Create detailed proposals and professional proposal booklets
• Review and reconcile submissions, quotations, and proposals to ensure consistency
• Make updates based on client meetings and producer direction
• Assist in obtaining binders of insurance and client sign-off
• Issue certificates and process invoicing
• Review issued policies against submitted documentation and proposal
• Verify endorsements align with Account Executive requests
• Support producers and teammates with various administrative and service duties
Required Qualifications
• Active Property & Casualty license preferred
• 3–4 years of commercial lines experience preferred
• Proficient in AMS360
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Highly organized with strong follow-through and attention to detail
Compensation & Benefits
• $60,000 – $80,000 per year, depending on experience
