Role Overview

The Commercial Director is responsible for the overall commercial strategy, performance, and value creation of Empiria Group.

The role provides group-wide strategic leadership across revenue generation, brand positioning, sales, marketing, distribution, pricing, product strategy, and commercial governance, ensuring alignment with Empiria Group’s long-term vision, brand values, and financial objectives.

The Commercial Director ensures that commercial strategy is fully integrated with operations, finance, and development, driving sustainable growth across the Group’s portfolio.

Key Accountabilities

Group Commercial Strategy

• Define and lead Empiria Group’s commercial vision and long-term strategy across all properties and business units.
• Own overall Group commercial performance, including revenue growth, market share, and profitability.
• Ensure alignment between commercial objectives, brand positioning, guest experience, and financial targets.
• Establish group-wide commercial priorities, KPIs, and performance frameworks.

Revenue, Pricing & Distribution Oversight

• Provide executive oversight of pricing, distribution, and channel strategy across rooms and non-room revenue streams.
• Ensure disciplined revenue optimization across leisure, corporate, MICE, weddings, food & beverage, spa, and ancillary services.
• Oversee loyalty, and customer data strategy.
• Ensure data-driven decision-making through performance analytics and BI reporting.

Brand, Sales & Marketing Leadership

• Set strategic direction for Sales, Marketing, and Revenue functions, ensuring a unified commercial approach.
• Strengthen Empiria Group’s positioning within luxury travel consortia, preferred partnerships, and global distribution networks.
• Guide brand development, storytelling, and market presence in alignment with Empiria’s luxury identity.
• Ensure commercial readiness and positioning of new hotel openings or repositioned assets.

Product & Experience Strategy

• Provide executive oversight on the commercial viability and positioning of food & beverage, wellness, experiential, and lifestyle concepts.
• Ensure product development supports brand differentiation, guest expectations, and profitability.
• Lead competitive benchmarking and market intelligence across luxury hospitality segments.

Growth, Development & New Opportunities

• Evaluate new hotel acquisitions, management agreements, and hospitality ventures from a commercial perspective.
• Contribute to feasibility studies, business planning, and go-to-market strategies for new developments.
• Identify emerging markets, customer segments, and revenue opportunities aligned with the Group’s strategic goals.

Financial Performance & Value Creation

• Partner with the COO to ensure strong commercial discipline, margin management, and return on investment.
• Ensure capital investment decisions are commercially sound and value-accretive.
• Balance short-term performance with long-term brand and asset value.

Leadership & Governance

• Act as a senior leader and trusted advisor within the Executive Leadership Team.
• Provide strategic leadership and direction to:
• Sales Director
• Marketing Director
• Director of Revenue & Reservations
• Purchasing Director (commercial alignment)

• Hold commercial leadership teams accountable for performance, execution, and outcomes.
• Represent Empiria Group in key owner, partner, and industry engagements.


Requirements:
Candidate's Profile

• Senior executive experience in luxury hospitality, ideally within a multi-property or group environment.

• Proven track record in commercial strategy, revenue leadership, and brand-driven growth.
• Strong understanding of luxury sales, marketing, distribution, digital strategy, and revenue management.
• Demonstrated experience in food & beverage and experiential product development.
• High level of financial acumen and commercial judgment.
• Strategic, collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence at executive level.
• International market exposure; experience with global luxury brands and consortia strongly preferred.
• Willingness to travel as required across Greece and key international markets.
