The team supports the ongoing implementation of the firm‑wide Contract Lifecycle Management Solution (CLMS), including the end‑to‑end contracting activities such as contract generation, contract review, and contract execution via CLMS for client and third‑party engagements and leads the optimisation of the workflows, processes and contract governance.
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Contracts Specialist to join the Contracting CoE and act as a trusted adviser to the business. This role is suited to someone who enjoys working at the intersection of commercial contracting, process improvement and technology‑enabled decision making.
About the role
As a Commercial Contracts Specialist, you will support the full lifecycle of client and third‑party contracts, from initiation through execution, variation, renewal and ongoing compliance. You will work closely with Engagement Leads, Engagement Managers and Account Executives, providing practical guidance on contractual requirements, commercial terms and firm processes, while ensuring contracts are progressed efficiently and in line with governance expectations.
The role also contributes to the effective use of the CLMS by supporting reporting, data quality, and continuous improvement initiatives. It will suit someone who is comfortable using systems, data and emerging tools (including AI‑enabled functionality within contract platforms) to enhance visibility, insight and contracting outcomes.
This is a 12-month contract role with the potential to extend or convert to a permanent position.
Key responsibilities
• Advise and support Engagement Leads on the firm’s contracting processes, procedures and systems for new contracts, variations and renewals
• Apply commercial judgement when reviewing contract terms and structures, identifying risks, issues and escalation points in line with firm policies
• Provide contract support and contract compliance, including:• Monitoring and responding to contract‑related service requests and queries
• Supporting self‑service contracting models and internal workflows
• Ensuring accurate contract metadata, document management and repository standards within the CLMS
• Overseeing contract lifecycle workflows, approval routing, templates and clause libraries
• Validating AI extracted legal clauses in CLMS
• Develop, maintain and enhance contract reporting and dashboards to support performance management (e.g. contract value, utilisation, renewals, cycle times and obligation tracking)
• Analyse contract and CLMS data, including use of emerging system capabilities and AI‑enabled analytics where available, to identify trends, risks and opportunities for process improvement and data quality
• Support post‑signature contract set‑up and activation, and monitoring of obligations within CLMS
• Maintain and update training and enablement assets (user guides, FAQs, videos) to support adoption of contracting tools and processes
• Contribute to change and transformation initiatives aimed at improving contracting maturity and effective use of CLMS platform
• Work collaboratively with Legal, Risk, Finance, Technology, Transformation teams and Clients & Markets account teams to progress contracts efficiently and resolve issues
• Actively contribute to a collaborative, engaged and high‑performing team environment

What you bring
• Experience working in a large professional services organisation or a similarly complex, matrixed environment
• Strong understanding of commercial contracts, including contractual terms, structures, compliance requirements and risk considerations
• Experience supporting contracts across the full contract lifecycle
• Hands‑on experience with contract lifecycle management systems and contract reporting tools
• Comfort using technology and data to support contract insight, decision making and process improvement, with an interest in emerging tools and AI‑enabled functionality within contract platforms
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and problem‑solving capability
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across multiple teams and levels of the organisation
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently in a fast‑paced environment

Additional Experience
• Prior experience in commercial contract management
• Prior legal or professional services experience is highly regarded
