Commercial Construction Project Manager - Mixed-Use & Tenant Improvement Project

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Project Manager to oversee mixed-use development projects in Austin, Texas. This full-time, on-site role focuses on managing both mid-rise ground-up construction and tenant improvement build-outs across commercial developments.

The Project Manager will lead project planning, budgeting, subcontractor coordination, and construction execution from preconstruction through final completion. This position requires strong leadership, financial oversight, and communication skills to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to design specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage mixed-use commercial construction projects including mid-rise developments and tenant build-outs
• Oversee projects from preconstruction planning through project closeout
• Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and cost forecasts
• Coordinate subcontractors, consultants, architects, and internal teams throughout construction phases
• Review drawings, specifications, and contracts to ensure project scope alignment
• Monitor job costs, track change orders, and maintain financial performance
• Lead project meetings with owners, architects, and subcontractors
• Ensure construction activities meet quality, safety, and regulatory requirements in Austin, TX
• Identify potential risks or scheduling conflicts and implement proactive solutions
• Maintain accurate project documentation, progress reports, and contract records

Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Commercial Construction Project Manager
• Background managing mixed-use developments, mid-rise buildings, or tenant improvement projects
• Strong understanding of construction scheduling, budgeting, and subcontractor coordination
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project contracts
• Experience managing multiple project phases and maintaining cost control
• Strong communication and leadership skills when working with owners, architects, and subcontractors
• Ability to manage several project priorities simultaneously

Preferred Experience

• Experience working with general contractors with 100–400 employees
• Background managing mid-rise mixed-use or urban development projects
• Familiarity with construction management platforms such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar software
