The Commercial Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the Head of P&L, Commercial Manager and Trading Squad in making informed business decisions.
Working within a cross-functional, self-organised Trading Squad, the Commercial Analyst will drive insights, analyse performance, and communicate key trends to stakeholders.
The role requires strong commercial acumen and the ability to identify, prioritise, and act upon opportunities for growth, focusing on driving profitable outcomes across multiple partners and markets.
The Commercial Analyst will also collaborate across the wider Trading Analyst Group, ensuring that learnings are captured, shared, and implemented across the organisation.
Additionally, the role will involve project work and providing analytical support for various initiatives, ensuring that data-driven strategies are consistently aligned with the organisation's broader goals.

What you’ll do as a Commercial Analyst;:
Performance Analysis & Communication:
•
Analyse trading performance and identify the key drivers influencing outcomes.
•
Communicate findings to stakeholders in a clear, tailored way to ensure insights are easily understood and actionable.
Project Leadership & Co-management:
•
Support ad-hoc and long-term projects, such as partner performance optimisation and strategic initiatives, by providing data insights and recommendations.
P&L Deep Dives:
•
Conduct regular financial P&L deep dives on selected partner groups, providing actionable insights for performance improvement.
Reporting Framework Development:
•
Develop scalable, automated reporting that allow channel and P&L owners to analyse performance and identify trends effectively.
P&L Performance Communication:
•
Ensure that performance trends related to pricing, digital merchandising, content, and conversion are well communicated, contextualised, and prioritised to drive business growth.
Collaboration and Action:
•
Work closely with the Trading Squad to identify growth opportunities and ensure these are developed and executed across the business.
•
Collaborate with other teams (e.g., business, product, finance) to ensure commercial strategies are aligned and backed by robust analytical insights.
Project Support:
•
Provide analytical support for cross-functional projects, offering insights from performance data to shape strategy and ensure alignment with business goals.
•
Contribute to special initiatives, such as pricing forums, new product launches, or partner onboarding, by supporting the data analysis and performance tracking.
What you’ll bring to the team:
• At least 3+ years in a similar role, with a proven track record in data analysis, identifying commercial opportunities, and driving business results.
• A third-level degree in IT, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
• Strong experience working with large datasets and practical experience with SQL.
• Expertise in data visualisation, including creating interactive dashboards with tools such as Tableau or ThoughtSpot.
• A passion for data and the ability to use it to identify commercial opportunities and product improvements.
• A strong understanding of Excel and PowerPoint are essential.
• Ability to clearly and succinctly communicate complex findings to a non-specialist audience.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, working effectively across teams and with external partners.

Experience with statistical programming languages like R or Python is a plus, though not essential.
