What we are looking for:
Currently, we are looking for a Collections Specialist to join our Finance team for a 6-month contract!
The Collections Specialist is responsible for managing a portfolio of customer accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding invoices while maintaining strong customer relationships. This role requires a proactive, analytical, and solution-oriented approach to resolving payment issues, reducing delinquency, and supporting overall cash flow objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Manage an assigned portfolio of accounts to ensure timely collection of receivables.
Conduct regular outreach (phone, email) to follow up on past-due invoices.
Analyze aging reports and prioritize collection efforts based on risk and exposure.
Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, disputes, and short payments in collaboration with internal teams.
Negotiate payment plans and recommend appropriate actions for delinquent accounts according to set policies and procedures.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date collection notes and account status in the system.
Prepare and distribute customer statements and dunning communications with internal and external customers.
Escalate high-risk accounts and recommend credit holds or further action when necessary.
Support month-end activities, including reporting on collection performance and KPIs.
Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and Finance teams to resolve customer issues and improve processes.
Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
Support the billing department as required.
Knowledge and Skills
Understanding of AR processes, aging, and collection cycles.
Experience working with ERP systems, Microsoft office and collection tools.
Ability to manage difficult conversations while maintaining professionalism.
Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
Effective time management and ability to prioritize a high-volume workload.
Problem-solving skills with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
